A Real-Life Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, there lived a very pretty princess named Lucia. She had silky long hair and she loved wearing a crown on her head. Princess Lucia got her crown on her 11th birthday, and she loved it so much that she never took it off. She wore it while sleeping and she wore it even during her swimming classes at princess school.

Lucia did not care even if the townspeople thought that she was weird… or eccentric… or different. She loved being herself, which made the people dislike her more.

When Lucia turned 18 years old, her father, the king, wanted her to marry a rich and handsome prince from another kingdom. But, the princess did not want to settle down just yet. She told her father that she wanted to explore first, learn more about the world, and travel to other places before she gets married.

The king and the queen were dumbfounded upon hearing the princess’s plan for her future. After all, every lady in the kingdom would die for the opportunity to marry the wealthiest and most good-looking prince every kingdom has ever set eyes on. Nevertheless, the king and the queen respected Princess Lucia’s choice and let her go.

Princess Lucia thanked her parents for understanding her. She immediately packed her bags and booked a multi-city flight that will traverse hundreds of countries before going back to their home country. (Oh, let me clarify. Her nanny did these for her.)

In one of her travels in Asia, she decided to walk the shores of Boracay and revel in the beauty of the beach. Suddenly, heavy winds blew her crown away from her head. Her crown was blown to the sea. Without thinking twice, Princess Lucia went to the water to retrieve her crown. Little did she know that there was a strong undercurrent on that part of the beach. She was almost swallowed by the waves when something pulled her arm from the water.

Princess Lucia couldn’t believe her eyes! Or was she dreaming? The man who rescued her looked very much like the prince! It was actually the prince! He lifted her and laid her on the shore. There, on his other hand, was her shiny crown. The prince saved her and her crown!

Princess Lucia was so happy to see the prince! The prince explained to her that he has always been a beach lover and that he was also traveling all over the world in search of the best beach in the world!

The trip marked the end of their travels as they decided to go back to their home country together and settle down. Because they were rich and powerful, their parents used their connections to alter their returning flights so they could come home together.

A year after the grandest wedding ever, Princess Lucia gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. For the next five years, Princess Lucia had two more babies, which added to their home’s beautiful mess. They added more servants to play with their kids, while Princess Lucia spent hours in the gym to bring back her beautiful figure.

Years later, the king passed away and the queen decided to live with Princess Lucia and her family. Just like any other mother-daughter relationship, theirs had rough patches here and there. They had differing opinions on parenting, home arrangements, and daily menus. But they managed to get through it.

And just like any other married couple, Princess Lucia and the prince also had their own fights over money matters, in-laws, and why Princess Lucia still wears her crown every day even while sleeping.

And since this is a real-life fairy tale, I can say that they lived happily ever after only because they decided to stick together and to live happily ever after.

Yes, they made the decision to live happily ever after. And they did.
