In this blog, we’ll share everything you need to know — the ambiance, the pools, the food, the rooms, and why we think this hotel deserves a spot on your travel list.

Let’s dive in!

First Impressions: A Resort in the Middle of the City 🌱

Baitong Hotel is a boutique hotel located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It is especially famous for its nature-inspired architecture and calming atmosphere that instantly makes guests feel relaxed.

The moment you walk inside, you’ll understand what we mean.

Instead of the usual city hotel lobby, you are welcomed by an environment that feels almost like a spa resort. The air smells like essential oils and fresh wood — the kind of scent that instantly relaxes your mind after a long day of travel. Plants and greenery are everywhere, climbing walls and filling open spaces, making you feel surrounded by nature.

Right in the center of the hotel, there is water flowing through a beautiful feature that connects the different levels of the building. The gentle sound of running water, combined with the lush plants and natural lighting, creates a peaceful atmosphere that feels like a tropical retreat hidden in the middle of the city.

It honestly feels less like entering a hotel and more like stepping into a wellness sanctuary.

Amenities

One of the highlights of staying at Baitong Hotel is its three unique swimming pools.

Yes — three!

The Forest Pool 🌿

The Forest Pool is easily the most magical of the three.

Swimming here feels like you are floating in a hidden river in the middle of the forest. The pool is surrounded by trees, plants, and natural wood elements that give the water a deep emerald color. The entire environment feels calm and secluded.

Of course, unlike a real forest river, there are no crocodiles to worry about!

The water is clean and refreshing, and the area is wonderfully quiet. One of the most relaxing features is the gentle sound of water cascading down from the jacuzzi pool above. The soft waterfall sound creates a calming atmosphere that makes it easy to just float and forget about everything else.

There are also five comfortable lounge beds by the pool where you can relax, read a book, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Even better — each lounge bed has access to a service button. Just press it and a waiter will come to take your order!

Our recommended poolside snacks:

  • Truffle fries 🍟
  • Nachos 🧀
  • Mango smoothie 🥭

Trust us, enjoying these while relaxing beside the pool is pure vacation bliss.

The Jacuzzi Pool 💦

Located just above the Forest Pool is the Jacuzzi Pool, and this is actually Tala’s favorite pool in the hotel.

It looks like a small elevated basin filled with bubbling water and massage jets. The pool features textured massage nubs that gently relax your muscles while warm water flows around you.

But the most beautiful feature is the water that spills over the edge and falls down into the Forest Pool below. Watching the water cascade down while sitting in the warm jacuzzi creates a calming and almost hypnotic experience.

The vibe here is incredibly peaceful — perfect after a long day of sightseeing.

It’s honestly difficult to describe the feeling.

You just have to experience it for yourself.

The Deck Pool ☀️

The third pool is the Deck Pool, located on the 4th floor.

This pool has a more traditional design compared to the other two. It’s surrounded by lounge chairs and open space, making it a great spot for sunbathing or casual swimming.

While still beautiful, Tala admits this one is her least favorite of the three.

Why?

Because it reminds her of their swimming class — which is her least favorite class in school!

Oops. 😅

But if you enjoy a classic pool setting with a nice view and plenty of sunshine, the Deck Pool is still a lovely place to relax.

The Gym 💪

Baitong Hotel also has a gym for guests who want to stay active during their trip.

The gym is relatively small, but it serves its purpose well. It has enough equipment for a quick workout — whether you want to do some cardio, lift weights, or simply sweat it out after enjoying too many delicious meals during your stay.

Sometimes a short workout is all you need to balance vacation indulgence!

Lantern Bar 🌇

For dinner, our favorite place in the hotel is Lantern Bar, the rooftop bar of Baitong Hotel.

The atmosphere here is simply amazing.

With soft lighting, comfortable seating, and views of the city skyline, the rooftop setting creates a relaxing yet stylish dining experience. It’s perfect for unwinding after a long day.

Lantern Bar serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, along with a mix of Western and Asian dishes.

Here are our #TeamTalaRecommends dishes:

  • Margherita pizza 🍕
  • Red snapper with rice 🐟
  • Papaya salad 🥗
Margherita pizza
Red snapper with rice
Papaya salad with pork

The food is delicious, but the ambience truly steals the show.

Baitong Café ☕

At the ground floor, you’ll find Baitong Café, a cozy spot for coffee, pastries, and light meals.

We tried:

  • Carbonara pasta
  • Bacon, cheese, and pesto panini

Both were absolutely satisfying — perfect for a quick lunch or afternoon snack.

Restaurants Near the Hotel 🍜

If you want to explore dining outside the hotel, you’ll be happy to know that Baitong Hotel is located in a very convenient area.

Right in front of the hotel, you’ll find Jaru Korean Restaurant.

Walk a little further down the street and you’ll discover several other options including:

  • Pocha Korean restaurant
  • A local Khmer restaurant
  • A Vietnamese restaurant
  • A Japanese restaurant

All of these are located just a few meters away from the hotel.

And if you need snacks or quick essentials, there’s also an Aeon MaxValu convenience store just steps away.

Super convenient!

The Rooms 🛏️

When booking your stay, you can choose between:

  • A City View Room
  • A Garden Terrace View Room

Our personal favorite is the Garden Terrace View Room.

We highly recommend this option if you love waking up to lush greenery and a peaceful nature view. Many of these rooms overlook the plants, water features, and waterfall areas of the hotel, creating a calming environment that feels very different from typical city hotels.

Opening the balcony doors in the morning and seeing the greenery outside is such a refreshing way to start the day.

It’s perfect for travelers who love nature-inspired spaces and tranquil surroundings.

Final Thoughts 🌿

Overall, we highly recommend Baitong Hotel for travelers visiting Phnom Penh.

From its relaxing ambiance and beautiful pools to its delicious food and convenient location, the hotel offers a unique stay that blends comfort with nature.

Whether you’re planning a short city escape, a relaxing staycation, or a longer trip, Baitong Hotel is definitely worth considering.
